What Counts As A Dental Emergency?
- Pain (this is the main cause for concern – it will be our priority to stabilise the effected area to get you comfortable again)
- Bleeding (especially if linked with pain) – if no pain, this could be a sign of Gum Disease and still needs looking at sooner rather than later
- Loose teeth – as adults we shouldn’t have loose teeth, so the sooner we can take a look the better (so we can plan to stabilise the region)
- Abscess/serious infection – you may notice swelling or pain around your face. This should not be left untreated.
What Is Deemed As Not An Emergency?
If you can wait a couple of days to be seen then its not as critical. For example a chipped tooth, if there is no pain, it can wait a couple of days to be seen. Where as a chipped tooth with pain is an emergency.
